Inter-disciplinary PhDs: perspectives from staff and students
The Department of Information Policy & Governance within the Faculty of Media & Knowledge Science is jointly organising, together with the Doctoral School, a seminar to discuss inter-disciplinary PhDs. The seminar is designed for both teaching staff and doctoral candidates, present and prospective. This event will build on the hard-won experience that the Department has had over more than three decades since 1988 and, especially, share what the Faculty of Media & Knowledge Sciences has learned during the past five years of the ESSENTIAL Joint Doctoral programme www.essentialresearch.eu

Building interdisciplinary PhDs: Pointers for PhD students
Professor Irena Chiru, Dean Faculty for Intelligence Studies, National Intelligence Academy, Romania,
Prof. Chiru holds a PhD in sociology and is a professor of Intelligence Studies, author and co-author of several books, chapters and articles focused on the interaction between intelligence and communication. She is especially interested in investigating intelligence cultures and their impact on strategic political and military decisions.
