Two members from the JC Diversity Committee travelled to Detmold, Germany on an Erasmus+ Job Shadowing collaborative project between the 16th and 18th of April. This project involves educators from Germany, Malta, Spain, Finland and France and focuses on diversity and inclusion.
The German hosts from Geschwister- Scholl Gesamtschule school organised a 3 - day programme, where participants had the opportunity to observe how the school tackles issues of disability. Participants exchanged ideas and information about their institutions and took part in a number of classroom activities with the students. Other issues such as gender and migration were also discussed. It was very interesting to observe a special program which the school has created to integrate international students into the school community.
This has been an excellent learning experience for our lecturers and one which is surely going to enhance the way by which issues to do with diversity and inclusion are tackled at the Junior College.
This project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Accreditation programme and coordinated by the JC International Office. The meeting was attended by Ms Adela De Giorgio and Ms Natasha Galea.
