Junior College (JC) has secured first place in the Data Smackdown competition, organised by the National Statistics Office. During the awards ceremony, held on 13 April 2026 at the Aula Magna Hall in the Old University Building in Valletta, JC Principal, Mr Paul Xuereb, attended the event and received the trophy on behalf of the College.
The ceremony celebrated not only the winners but also the dedication and efforts of all participating students, educators, and schools. Distinguished guests included senior officials from the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, as well as representatives from the National Statistics Office and the Malta Statistics Authority.
Junior College’s winning team was mentored by Dr Christina Zarb, Mr Mark Caruana, and Mr Christopher Fava. Following their success at national level, the students will now go on to represent Malta at the European level of the competition.
This achievement reflects the commitment and talent of Junior College students, as well as the strong support provided by their educators.
