Junior College students have achieved outstanding success in the prestigious Essay Competition, an international competition open to students aged 13 to 18 years.
The competition required participants to submit a 500-word essay focused on a specific academic or career-oriented topic. Each year, the competition attracts thousands of submissions from around the world, with entries judged on the basis of critical analysis, originality, and depth of insight.
- Philipp Dmitrievich Izhogin wrote an essay entitled “Gravity Through Quantum Information”
- Sebastian Peter Manduca submitted an essay titled “The Desire/Need for the Theory of Everything”. Sebastian is also considering pursuing an engineering course in Tokyo, starting on 1 July 2026.
- Naima Spiteri submitted an essay about how evolution is struggling to keep up with the rapid increase of climate change and how the behavioral and physiological adaptions of many species are no longer enough to keep them alive. She will be attending an 'Academic Insights' course in Biology at Cambridge University.
These achievements reflect the students’ strong academic ability and enthusiasm as well as the high standard of work encouraged within their departments.
Well done to all students on this excellent achievement.
