Eleven Junior College students, accompanied by lecturers Ms Josette Tabone and Ms Elaine Chetcuti, participated in a pupil learning mobility in Vienna during the last week of June, as part of the Erasmus+ student exchange programme "HABITS FOR SUCCESS”. The initiative, hosted by partner school Kaufmännische Schulen des BFI Wien, was the third and final meeting as part of this year’s programme, aimed to equip participants with essential 21st century skills, crucial for today's world.
The week’s activities provided valuable insights to participants, through a series of hands-on workshops, where JC students collaborated with their Austrian counterparts. Key themes explored included the profound meaning of happiness in one's life and the true value and role of money. Reflective practices were also a significant component, with students examining the effects of social media on well-being and exploring the potential integration of meditation for a more serene and successful existence. Promoting a holistic and healthy lifestyle, the itinerary also featured outdoor activities such as a hike up Kahlenberg, a scenic hill in Vienna, and trekking in the picturesque Viennese Alps.
Beyond the workshops, the group embarked on an interactive tour of Vienna's city centre, visiting iconic landmarks including St. Stephen's Cathedral, Kunsthistorisches Museum and the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace Gardens. Cultural immersion was further enhanced through experiences with traditional Viennese cuisine and an introduction to the elegant Viennese Waltz.
This exchange in Vienna marked the successful conclusion of the "HABITS FOR SUCCESS" project, which commenced with a Malta-based week in February, followed by another group traveling to Belgium.
