Professor Jonathan R. Alger, President of James Madison University, recently led a delegation on a visit to the University of Malta where he met with Rector Prof. Juanito Camilleri and Rector Elect Prof. Alfred J. Vella.
James Madison University has a long running relationship with the University of Malta. Students and groups from this University have attended courses and participated in activities for a number of years. In addition, the University of Malta and James Madison University have been running a dual degree programme as part of the International Masters Programme operated from the Valletta Campus since 2009.
The Master's programme in Environmental Management and Sustainability (formerly known as M.Sc. Sustainable Environmental Resources Management - SERM) is an accelerated, 12-month, international dual degree programme. Students completing the programme receive a Master of Science degree from both James Madison University and the University of Malta, providing them with an educational credential that can be used both in the US and European Union markets.
During the delegation’s visit, discussions about the possible strengthening of the current relationship were undertaken, while members of the delegation also had the opportunity to visit places of historical and cultural interest.
