Dr Joseph Agius and Professor Helen Grech from the Department of Communication Therapy of the Faculty of Health Sciences, are currently involved in a research project co-founded through the ERASMUS+ KA203 - Strategic Partnerships for higher education programme.
Entitled "Between interaction and innovation - creating communication space in the digital world", the project aims to share knowledge on communication skills with academics and higher secondary school teachers and students.
The major outputs of this project include a handbook for educators and an online modern didactic workbook for students with the intention of spreading knowledge and sharing information regarding effective communication skills.
The coordinating institution is the University of Silesia, Katowicc, Poland, while other partners include Kasmieras Simonavicius University, Lithuania, the European University of Cyprus and the non-governmental organisation, The Knowledge and Social Dialogue Foundation AGERE AUDE, Poland.
Although the intention was for the project team to meet, at face-to-face meetings in partner institutions to discuss and monitor the progress of the project, this was only possible for the launch of the project.
Nonetheless, virtual meetings have been ongoing and the work on the handbook and the workbook are in progress. The project is expected to end in December 2021.
