A University of Malta project is investigating new ways for the early detection of metastatic disease, or cancer which spreads from one body part to another.
Project IMPRINT, which kicked off in April 2020, will utilise innovative molecular profiling technologies to isolate and characterise distinct populations of circulating tumour cells in blood, originating from solid tumours of the breast, colon and lung.
It has so far been successful
The project employs a full time research support officer III, providing employment opportunities to scientists with a PhD in the molecular biology field.
