Being active is absolutely essential to a healthy lifestyle.
The European Week of Sport, celebrated across the continent from 23 to 30 September, is being celebrated at the University of Malta, with a number of ambassadors among the University community urging colleagues, students and the rest to find some time to dedicate for physical exercise.
Whether it’s a walk, a short jog, some sit-ups or a bit of stretching, physical exercise is highly encouraged as part of our daily rituals.
SportMalta virtually attended the launch of this year’s dedicated week that took place in Bled, Slovenia, and together with more than 20 sports organisations, it has organised a series of activities, ranging from individual sports to team sports, at a number of locations across Malta.
The ambassadors of this year’s European Week of Sport are athletes Sacha Gatt, Yazmin Zammit Stevens, Matthew Bugeja, Vlada Kravchenko, Matthew Abela, Eleanor Bezzina, Andrew Chetcuti, Thomas Borg, Matthew Bugeja and Carla Scicluna, who all took part in the Olympics, Paralympics and Special Olympics.
In the video below, prepared by the Marketing, Communications and Alumni Office, UM ambassador Eleanor Bezzina, Mr Oliver Mallia, Manager at the Institute for Physical Education & Sport at the University, and student athlete Rebecca are seen urging the UM community to join in the fun!
