The webinar was opened by German Ambassador to Malta, H.E. Walter Hassmann and the Chairman of the Mediterranean Academy Prof. Godfrey Pirotta.
It was addressed by Honorable Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Malta, Evarist Bartolo and State Secretary in the German Federal Foreign Office, Miguel Berger, as well as the Director for the United Nations and Counterterrorism Katharina Ahrendts.
Speakers included German and Maltese experts, including Prof. Amrita Narlikar, President of the German Institute for Global and Area Studies of the University Hamburg and H.E. Prof. Simone Borg, Ambassador for Climate Change, Chair Steering Group Post-COVID-19 Strategy and Professor of International Law at the University of Malta.
The participants, who included diplomats accredited in Malta, MEDAC alumni and students, engaged in discussion with the speakers. The event was moderated by the Holder of the German Chair for Peace Studies and Conflict Prevention at MEDAC, Dr Monika Wohlfeld.
