A project involving the identification and detailed cataloguing of incunabula in Malta has recently been awarded a 2022 Fellowship by the Bibliographical Society of America. This will enable the publication of the first-ever catalogue of incunabula held in Maltese public, ecclesiastical and private collections.
The project is being conducted by a team of Maltese and Italian academics, namely Prof. William Zammit from the University’s Department of Library Information and Archives Sciences and Krystle Attard Trevisan, Curator at MUZA and a PhD candidate with University of London School of Advanced Study. From the Italian side is Prof. Marco Palma, Dr Anna Scala and Dr Rosalia Claudia Giordano. It is expected that the publication will be out by the end of 2022.
