Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, Malta’s National Youth Agency, launched the first edition of the Youth Empowerment Award, aimed at university student organisations.
The Youth Empowerment Award will acknowledge the useful work done by these student organisations, as well as individual abilities and positive contributions in the community.
Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation, Hon. Keith Azzopardi Tanti, who was present for the launch, said the government recognises the effort of student organisations, and so it felt the necessity to give tools, and financial support, through the Agency, to help them continue moving forward.
Around 70 student organisations are currently active on campus, said Pro-Rector for Student & Staff Affairs and Outreach, Prof. Carmen Sammut, all with the aim of improving students’ academic journeys.
Interested applicants have until 10 May to apply via the Agency’s website.
The launch of the Award was combined with the launch of KSU’s Career Expo, taking place at the University Quadrangle between 20 and 22 February 2024, and which is hosting over 30 companies from a wide range of industries, who will be introducing visitors to their line of work.
