On Friday 8 March 2024, President of the European Parliament, Dr Roberta Metsola, who is also a University of Malta alumna, received a warm welcome by Faculty of Laws students and lecturers, as she delivered a lecture about different roles within the European Union and how they all complement its general vision and mission.
Dr Metsola is currently undergoing a campaign to encourage young students from various educational institutions, both in Malta and abroad, to use their right to vote.
Earlier that day, she visited St Martin’s College to participate in an event called ‘Women in leadership: Breaking barriers and empowering change’.
On social media, Dr Metsola thanked the members of the Faculty of Law for the amazing welcome and said it always great to be back at the place which gave her such fond memories.
