The University of Malta has once again earned international recognition, ranking in the top 7.6% of universities worldwide according to the 2025 edition of the Global 2000 list by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR).
The full rankings were published on Monday 2 June 2025 at cwur.org.
Featuring once again among the world's top 2000 universities, UM has achieved its best-ever world ranking and score in seven years, securing the 1,622nd position out of 21,462 participant institutions across the globe.
This marks a steady upward trend, improving from last year's position of 1,705 despite the increase in participating universities.
In the regional context, the University of Malta ranks 533rd in Europe and retains its position as Malta’s top-ranked higher education institution.
