On 31 March 2025, the European Branch (EURBICA) General Assembly of the International Council on Archives elected its new Executive Committee for a four-year term.
Among the members is Dr Valeria Vanesio of the Department of Library, Information and Archive Sciences of the University of Malta. Vanesio joins the committee as one of its executive members, bringing her expertise in archival science and history, digital projects, and international cooperation.
She will work alongside Chair Cristian AniÈ›a (National Archives Romania), Vice Chair Cristina DÃaz MartÃnez (State Archives of Spain), Secretary General Zoltán Szatucsek (Hungarian National Archives), Executive Member Vlatka Lemić (ICARUS, Archives of the University of Zagreb), and Facebook Page Editor and Webmistress Mies Langelaar (formerly Rotterdam City Archives).
The newly elected team reflects a dynamic and diverse group of professionals dedicated to advancing the archival profession across Europe. As Vanesio and her colleagues begin their terms, they aim to foster innovation, collaboration, and growth throughout the European archival community.
