When Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote Le Petit Prince he was living in exil in the US during the Summer of 1942. The book was first published there in 1943 by Reynal and Hitchcock, and then seventy years ago by Gallimard in Paris. This masterpiece sold roughly 150 million copies across the world in 270 languages.
The first edition of the Maltese translation by Prof. Toni Aquilina goes back to the year 2000 (Mireva Publications) and has long since been sold out. This revised edition by Papiros Edicions of Nuoro in Sardinia follows the Maltese translator’s participation in a conference on Saint-Exupéry at the Aula Magna of the University of Nuoro in October last year.
Copies can be ordered from the translator by email or directly from the publisher.
