The latest issue—Vol. 5, No. 1 (2016)—of the refereed academic journal Postcolonial Directions in Education has just been published.
Postcolonial Directions in Education is a peer-reviewed open access journal produced twice a year. It is a scholarly journal intended to foster further understanding, advancement and reshaping of the field of postcolonial education. The general editors are Anne Hickling Hudson from Queensland University of Technology, Peter Mayo and Milosh Raykov, both from the University of Malta.
Its stellar Editorial Advisory Board includes Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Ngugi Wa Thiong'O, Linda Tuhiwai Smith, Nahla Abdo, Vadana Shiva, Jim Cummins, Henry Giroux, George Dei, Peter McLaren, Donaldo Macedo, Davide Zoletto, Catherine Odora Hoppers, Nur Masalha, Daniel Schugurensky, Antonia Darder and others.
Vol. 5, No. 1 (2016) is a special issue titled 'Doing Southern Theory' and is guest edited by Keita Takayama, Stephen Heimans, Rose Amazan and Vegneskumar Maniam. Besides the guest editorial introduction, it contains five peer reviewed articles, a conference report and a book review. The journal is published by the University of Malta.
