This year marked the 27th edition of the annual Engineering Projects Exhibition, which showcased 94 projects carried out by undergraduate engineering students during the final year of their four year B.Eng.(Hons) degree programme, and also projects by postgraduate engineering students.
The Faculty of Engineering Projects Exhibition was officially opened on the 30 June at the University of Malta. The ceremony was attended by the newly appointed Rector, Professor Alfred Vella, Dean of Engineering, Dr Andrew Sammut, and the President of the Chamber of Engineers, Ing. Norman Zammit. During the ceremony, a number of donations from industry were presented to various departments.
The Faculty of Engineering Projects Exhibition was open to the public on Friday 1st July and Saturday 2nd July. Exhibits included a wide selection of topical areas related to the biomedical field, renewable energy, the environment, electronic products, robotics, transportation, manufacturing processes, new materials and surface treatments.
Throughout the years, the exhibited projects have portrayed state-of-the-art technological and research achievements. The aim of the exhibition is to give all students ranging from primary to post secondary education, employers and employees within the industrial, health and services sectors and the general public an opportunity to view the projects first hand and to meet with graduating students of the Faculty of Engineering.
