The Department of Accountancy, at the Faculty of Economics, Management & Accountancy, University of Malta is now offering the opportunity to Certified Public Accountants to carry out a substantial part of their structured Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirement by attending one of the six elective study-units (listed below) offered for the Master in Accountancy starting in October/February semesters.
The study-units are the following:
ACC5964 - Financial Instruments and Risk Analysis (maximum 20 applicants)
ACC5965 - Public Sector Accounting (maximum 20 applicants)
ACC5982 - International Accounting (maximum 20 applicants)
ACC5984 - International Taxation (maximum 20 applicants)
ACC5985 - Financial Reporting for Small Entities (maximum 20 applicants)
MGT5815 - Entrepreneurship and Innovation (maximum 20 applicants)
The study-units will consist of about 28 hours of CPE. Each study-unit will be held in the afternoon, except for ACC5985 - Financial Reporting for Small Entities, which will be held over two separate weeks (full-time).
Accountants are to apply online giving their CPA registration number. There will be no assessment but regular attendance will be expected and recorded. Each applicant will be entitled to attend only one elective per year subject to availability on a first-come first-served basis (a maximum of 20 external participants has been set for each study-unit). The fee for each elective will be EUR 250.
