Dr Ing. Emmanuel Francalanza from the University of Malta’s Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering was recently guest lecturer at the Kempten University of Applied Sciences, Germany. The visit was funded by the Bavarian state Ministry for Education. The lecture on the implications of customer requirements on production systems, was presented to students following the Master’s course in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.
During his visit Dr Ing. Francalanza held discussions with members of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with the aim of establishing a long term relationship between the two Universities. These meetings included a visit to KLEVERTEC the Competence Centre for Applied Research in Food and Packaging Technology.
Dr Ing Francalanza also presented the various research initiatives undertaken by members of the Concurrent Research Unit at the University of Malta in order to further internationalise the research group as part of the MCST funded project 'Amplifying Research in Digital Factories for Innovative Product Development'.
