The University of Malta’s Programme in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (PLAS) is currently accepting applications for individual Units during Semester 1 (Oct. 2017 - Jan. 2018), These areas covered include Sociology, Psychology of Communication, Maltese History, Online Teaching and Learning, Opera Appreciation, the Maltese Constitution and Human Rights, Modern and Contemporary Italian Literature, Aesthetics and the Philosophy of Literature, Consumer Rights, and Communication and Learning in Museums.
PLAS offers an excellent opportunity for personal and professional development. Prospective students may apply for any and as many Units as they wish from the broad range of PLAS Units on offer. PLAS Units consist of weekly evening lectures between 18:00 and 20:00, normally spread over 14 weeks. Students receive a 'Certificate of Achievement' after successfully completing each Unit. Upon completing a set number of ECTS credits, they become eligible for University Awards (Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma and Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies).
Four PLAS Tech Units are also being offered this October. The rationale of these Units is to respond to the need for ICT professionals to enrich their academic education with focused expertise on a selection of current and emerging software technologies and tools. In the next semester, Units on Data Science, Enterprise Architecture, Extreme Java Development, and 3D Modeling and Visualisation using MAYA. PLAS Tech Units are included in the Get Qualified scheme.
