Denise Mizzi, a projects support officer at the Centre for Resilience and Socio-Emotional Health, attended a one week 'Train the Trainers' workshop on the HOPEs Training Tool at the Pedagogical Institute,Nicosia, Cyprus on 18-22 September, 2017.
HOPEs project is funded by the European Commission under the ERASMUS+ program KA2 - Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices (Strategic Partnerships for school education). The project was launched in September 2016 with 24 months duration and is implemented in five EU countries (Cyprus, Greece, Ireland, Malta and Portugal).
The Programme targets primary school teachers to empower their ability to interact and positively influence students' behaviour and abilities. The newly developed innovative educational tool assist in guiding children on issues related to self-knowledge, mental resilience, happiness and positivity. This innovative training tool for teachers is based on the theoretical framework of Positive Psychology and Character Development.
On 23 September the third transnational meeting took place in the same venue, where all partners decided on the next stages of the implementation of the Programme; the programme will be implemented in a number of Maltese schools in the coming months.
