Recently, Pro-Rector Carmen Sammut, Prof. Ji Nengwen, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, and Prof. Anthony J. Frendo, the local director of the Confucius Institute, attended the 12th Global Confucius Institute Conference preceded by the 9th Xiamen University Confucius Institute Partnership Workshop.

Both events were held in Xi’an in western China and in both instances there was much scope for networking with various universities from different parts of the world. The links between UM and Xiamen University (UM’s partner University) were also enhanced.
