A group of 17 students from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SUTCM) have completed an eight-week intensive course in medical English and business English. The course, organised by the Centre for English Language Proficiency and the International Collaborative Programmes of the University of Malta, was tailor-made to suit this group of students from SUTCM.
To celebrate the successful completion of their studies, as well as usher in the Chinese New Year, the students organised an evening event at the UM Msida campus packed with activity and inter-cultural exchange. Participants took part in origami trials, massage therapy, relaxation exercises and discussions on food and medicine across cultures.
The event concluded with a note of thanks and appreciation by UM Pro-Rector Professor Godfrey Baldacchino, who also sang the Chinese folk song Jasmine Flower.
The initiative is part of ongoing collaboration between SUTCM and UM, and revolves around the Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine, located at the University of Malta Msida Campus.
