The Department of Inclusion and Access to Learning (DIAL), within the Faculty of Education, is offering a new undergraduate degree: the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Facilitating Inclusive Education.
The focus of the course is to look at inclusive educational environments, see how these are created and what barriers need to be overcome in order to provide all students with quality and equitable inclusive education.
The course has a strong practical component, which encourages reflexivity, aimed at developing an attitude of promoting and creating inclusive communities. The course builds on the Diploma in Facilitating Inclusive Education and continues to encourage a trans-disciplinary professional paradigm, supporting Universal Design for Learning.
In response to the needs of Learning Support Educators (LSEs), DIAL has explored innovative ways to offer prospective candidates various modes of reading for this degree. The degree is being offered in three separate modes:
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Facilitating Inclusive Education a 3-year full-time degree
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Facilitating Inclusive Education a 3-year evening part-time (top-up degree)
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Facilitating Inclusive Education a 5-year evening part-time degree
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Facilitating Inclusive Education a 5-year evening part-time degree
