On Tuesday 16 October, the Europe Direct Information Centre, within the Institute for European Studies, participated in the Second Cross-border Dialogue between Malta and Italy, organised by the European Commission.
The dialogue is an initiative to measure public opinion of EU citizens who share a border in an attempt to better understand the issues that concern them. The first dialogue was held in July in Palermo, Sicily, with the second organised in Malta. Over 170 people gathered from Malta and Sicily to discuss whether they were in favour of more European integration.
The EDIC - UM was represented by Dr Mark Harwood, Prof. Roderick Pace and Dr Jean Claude Cachia as well as a group of former and current students. The initiative is being organised in conjunction with the three Malta EDICs, namely University, MEUSAC and Gozo. The third dialogue will take place in Trapani in February 2019.
