These last 5 years have been a journey for Mr Clayton Micallef who was reading a B.Psy. (Hons) with the Faculty for Social Wellbeing. Following a serious accident Clayton had a number of impairments to contend with, but this did not come in the way of his studies, and through the support of the Department of Psychology, Faculty and the services offered by the University of Malta and the Ministry for Education and Employment, Clayton managed to see through his studies with a First Class Honours.
This 3 minute feature [MT] is a celebration of this life story and the work that our Alma Mater has done. Slowly and gradually we are dismantling the perception that the University is there just for those whom society defines as the ‘strongest’. This is wrong. The Faculty for Social Wellbeing alone had four students struggling with serious life challenging situations namely; tetraplegia, a physical disability, a visual impairment and a rare form of Huntingtons graduating all on the same day.
