Between 14 and 16 February 2019, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Agius from the Faculty of Theology delivered a paper on 'The Future of Work: Ethical Issues' at the 7th European Social Week (ESW), held in Milan, with the theme 'Solidarity, Subsidiarity, Common Good. Ways to Overcome Poverty and Social Inequality in Europe'.
A week later, Prof. Agius delivered a keynote address on 'Robotics: New Challenges and Opportunities for Catholic Theology' at the Workshop on Roboethics, Humans, Machine and Health organised by the Pontifical Academy for Life at the New Hall of the Synod at the Vatican City (25-26 February 2019). After his presentation, Prof. Agius was approached by the press to comment on the contribution of theological reflections to robotics. Together with all participants, he attended an audience with Pope Francis.
