The Islands and Small States Institute of the University of Malta is offering a Master’s degree on Islands and Small States Studies (MA ISSS) consisting of a number of study-units spread over two years on a part-time basis. Details are available online.
Each study-unit can be followed as a stand-alone course, in the sense that a student may attend a particular study unit, without following the whole course. The student can opt to obtain credits by sitting for an exam or else to just attend and obtain a certificate of attendance. In the latter case the student need not possess the formal qualifications for admission to the MA (ISSS) course.
The study units for which the general public can attend and which will be offered between October and November 2019 are:
- ISS5200: Economic and Environmental Issues
- ISS5210: Social and Political Issues.
Further information about these study-units is available online.
The registration fee for each study unit is EUR 325 covering 40 hours of tuition. The study-units will be offered subject to there being a sufficient number of applicants.
Lectures are planned to be held in Malta and in Gozo as follows:
Malta: Tuesdays and Thursdays 18:00 to 20:00 at the Msida campus.
Gozo: Fridays 18:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays 10:00 to 12:00 at the Gozo Campus, Xewkija.
