Our Department of Translation, Terminology & Interpreting Studies within the Faculty of Arts gladly welcomes new applicants who are interested in world affairs and foreign cultures, reading, writing and travelling, and would like to choose a career path where multilingualism and multiculturalism are key factors.
Learn from academic staff who are also industry experts and who bring their experience to the lecture room. As a student, you will become an expert in cross-cultural communication yourself, widening your understanding of a broad range of written and oral communications.
You will have a core study program combined with a specialisation stream, enabling you to develop your solid foundations in translation studies in general, while having the opportunity to focus on one of three possible specialisation fields: audiovisual translation, literary translation and translation for specific purposes.
Upon successfully completing this course, you will be able to:
• Deepen your linguistic awareness and understanding the nature of language
• Further enhance your competence in source language and mother tongue
• Familiarise yourself with the specialised terminology of new subject areas
• Undertake research, revision and editing of translations efficiently
