Prof. Timmy Gambin, Associate Professor at the Department of Classics & Archaeology within the University of Malta’s Faculty of Arts, was interviewed by Donatella Bianchi, journalist and presenter of Linea Blu, a popular TV show on Rai 1.
Prof. Gambin talks to Bianchi about the remains of the Battle of Egadi Islands fought in 241 BC off the Egadi Islands, which Prof. Gambin and his team are researching in collaboration with the Soprintendenza del Mare and the RPM Nautical Foundation from the research vessel RV Hercules.
The research team uses a state of the art the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (made available through the SINTEGRAM Project), that in itself carries a high-resolution side scan sonar to locate and map the archaeological objects on the seabed.
