Special Collections news
Two B.Mus. (Hons) students Carl Borg and Marvic Baldacchino have recently completed work placements with the Department of Special Collections where they were assigned work on the Charles Camilleri Collection. The time the students spent with us was not only mutually beneficial but also enjoyable and enriching and we hope that this initiative will be repeated by other departments in the future. Book of the month - February 2019
This book is a collection of essays published just in time to coincide with Valletta being the European Capital of Culture in 2018. Each essay is written by a different contributor on several subjects related in one way or another to Valletta. This publication was edited as a collaboration between Heritage Malta and Malta Libraries. The essays are divided into various themes such as the urban landscape of Valletta, the city and its lived-in areas, the cultural aspect of Valletta and how Malta’s capital city changed throughout its extensive history. The book contains numerous coloured photographs, tables and maps. Each essay includes a number of end notes with references from the extensive research done on each article in the book.
