The Horizon 2018-2020 Work Programme has been published!
- Horizon 2020 is the main research funding programme of the EU
- Funding is approved every 7 years following the multi-annual financial framework adopted by the European Commission
- The current programming period is 2014-2020, with approved funding of € 77 bn
- The programme is based upon several pillars, whereby a Work Programme containing topics is developed, negotiated and approved upon every 2 years
- The current Work Programme is for the period 2018-2020. Malta was invited to provide input through its National Contact Point, the Malta Council for Science and Technology, who in turn consulted with Maltese researchers, including the UM
- The Work Programme 2018-2020 has been officially published on 27 October 2017, with funding available of € 30 bn. Funding is available through the participation in competitive calls for funding.
Projects may either take the form of :
- Research and Innovation Actions
- Innovation Actions
- Mono-beneficiary Actions.
And may either be matching with a specific Work Programme topic or follow a bottom-up approach through the various calls available.

- to identify suitable calls for your research ideas
- in sourcing suitable partners
- to write sections of the proposal and proposal reviews
- for the submissions of proposals.
