RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is an annual event that offers experience in leadership to young persons. Leadership is a fundamental quality and a necessary requirement in anyone’s personal and professional life. Our Rotary District organises a RYLA seminar every year as a service to the community from which young persons can benefit. This year it will take place in Malta from 19 to 23 March 2018 and its main theme will be 'Leadership and Motivation'. Participants will be lectured in both Italian and English and reciprocal translations will be available. Applicants that can qualify should be between the ages of 18 and 30.
Some 70 participants recommended by the various Rotary Clubs within District are expected to attend, and provided applicants meet the criteria, they will be selected on a fist come first served basis. Participants are all invited to take up residence in one location (a hotel) for the four-day period of the seminar.
Participants are expected to reside together in a hotel to be able to interact and socialise together, as well as elaborate on themes entertained at the seminar. Participants are expected to remain to the end of the seminar when certificates will be given out.
The cost of the seminar is €700. Sponsorship might be available.
Anyone interested in participating or requiring further details, please contact Prof. Robert Ghirlando, by sending an email at robert.ghirlando@um.edu.mt not later than Friday 19 January 2018.
