Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) including acupuncture-moxibustion has now spread to 183 countries and regions. For the purposes of reflecting the global picture of TCM and offering an exchange platform for international talents, a World Essay Competition has in being organised by the Center for International Development of TCM of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Secretariat of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS), the Center for International Development of TCM of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the International Department of Tasly Holding Group Co.Ltd. Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has is a collaborative partner of the Centre for TCM at the University of Malta.
Topic and theme: the essay submitted should feature the internationalisation of TCM, including but not limited to researches on the worldwide or local development of TCM, acupuncture-moxibustion, Chinese herbal medicine, traditional medicine, etc; stories of learning experience of TCM; and cross-disciplinary studies related to TCM.
Participants: undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral students.
The essay shall be written in Chinese or English, with total words of 5,000-8,000. An abstract of 200-300 words is also required. The essay should be submitted in WORD format to contact@wfas.org.cn no later than 30 September, 2019 using Essay TCM internationalisation as the subject of your email, and include in your email: author(s) name, university/college, nationality, gender, age, major, grade, contact email, and phone number.
Reward: winners will be decided through expert review and online voting
Prizes
- Three 1st Prizewinners, with a reward of RMB 10,000 each
- Seven 2nd Prizewinners, with a reward of RMB 6,000 each
- Ten 3rd Prizewinners, with a reward of RMB 3,000 each
- Excellence Award winners, with a reward of RMB 1,000 each.
