The second instalment of the SMART summer school, titled “Understanding marine hydrogeology through the lens of geochemistry”, is now accepting applications.
The school is jointly organised by GEOMAR and the University of Malta through the SMART project.
The summer school is being held at the University of Malta from 5 – 10 July 2020, and it will provide in-dept lectures combined with training in the form of hands-on labs and field surveys.
The focus of this year’s school is on biogeochemical exercises in characterising freshened reservoir fluid origin, migration, and related element cycles.
Offshore groundwater research is gaining increased attention especially regarding whether these resources may be used sustainably to reduce water stress for many coastal communities including Malta.
Apply by registering online. A motivation letter highlighting reasons why you’d like to attend, together with a short CV are required.
The registration fee is waived for University of Malta students.
