Title: Futures Bootcamp – Towards a sustainable blue economy in 2030: Exploring opportunities for innovation and collaboration
Date: 24 June 2021 – 17 September 2021
Venue: Alternating between virtual and Malta Valletta Campus
Looking towards 2030, can we identify innovative solutions and collaborations for the sustainable growth of the blue economy? What type of science and innovation activity can support sustainable blue growth?
The University of Malta, together with the other participating universities of the SEA-EU initiative, is inviting researchers, academics and PhD students involved in marine and maritime areas (aquaculture, fisheries, deep-sea mining, environmental and ocean monitoring, ocean energy, blue biotechnology, tourism and the marine cluster) to attend the Futures Bootcamp – Towards a sustainable blue economy in 2030: Exploring opportunities for innovation and collaboration.
The boot camp takes a leap into the future to identify innovative solutions – these could be innovative technologies, business models, services and collaborations – that promote the sustainable growth of the blue economy, and to share experiences on the challenge of cross-sectoral and inter-regional collaboration.
Focus will be on identifying new R&I directions and themes that are not already part of an active research and innovation agenda or are just emerging, and which, if answered, could have an impact on blue growth.
A one-day virtual event will be held on 24 June 2021, and this is followed by a three-day face-to-face session at the University of Malta Valletta Campus.
The Language of delivery will be in English.
The application form can be downloaded online and sent via email to Dr Lisa Pace.
The deadline is 9 April 2021.
