FameLab is an international Science Communication competition.
This competition calls for all science enthusiasts who are keen on sharing their knowledge on any science-related topic or they simply would like to communicate science!
Presentation topics can range from science, technology, engineering, mathematics, geography, medicine or anything that is scientific. The aim of this competition is to communicate science in a unique and fun way.
FameLab is a global competition that gives an opportunity to science enthusiasts to share their knowledge and engage the public in the most effective ways.
In simply 3 minutes, each participant presents a concept on any topic of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
They will be judged by a professional panel of judges made up of local researchers, media personalities, and journalists on content, clarity and also charisma.
The applicants will send their audition video and those who go through will move on for a professional science communication masterclass.
The masterclass will help shape each participant’s skills in public engagement, communication and presentation skills within the science communication realm.
All the phases of the competition will be held online including the International Final for each participant’s safety. This does not mean that the competition will not be effective or acknowledged.
The application deadline is 1 April 2021.
The timeline of events is as follows:
- Launch & open applications – March 2021 (exact date will be announced soon on our social media pages)
- Applications deadline (completed by sending recorded video audition) – 1 April 2021
- Masterclass – July 2021
- National final – September 2021*
- International finals – November 2021*
