The Government of the People’s Republic of China is offering 2 Scholarships for the academic year of 2024/25 for Maltese students to study as undergraduate, Masters, Doctoral or visiting scholars’ program at Chinese Universities. The expense of international transport should be borne by the students themselves.

All the qualified applicants should apply online. Since the Ministry has to nominate any potential candidates by not later than Thursday 15 February 2024, applications on MFET website must be affected till the stipulated date. The applicants need to finish the online application on the Chinese Government website by not later than Thursday 29 February 2024. It is recommended that the students read the instructions and documents required before applying. Enclosed are the reference materials which could also be downloaded from the website.

Applicants are to apply also online with the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, Consular Services Office. The application forms are available online. Applicants are to include also a copy of all documents submitted electronically through the Chinese scholarships’ portal. The closing date of Thursday 15 February applies.

Applications from Government and Parastatal employees and from the Private Sector will not be considered unless recommended by their Head of Department/Parastatal Organisation/Employer respectively.

Late applications will not be considered. The Board’s decision will be final.
