Dear Young Artists,
Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and Pjazza Teatru Rjal are excited to announce that applications are now open for the Young Composers Mentoring Programme 2025. This unique opportunity offers mentorship from Malta’s leading composers to support young musicians in developing their skills in Pop, Rock, Jazz, or Classical Art Music.
Programme Highlights:
🎵 Professional Mentorship – Learn from Maestro Alex Bezzina (Pop, Rock & Jazz) and Maestro Christopher Muscat (Classical Art Music).
🎼 Workshops & One-to-One Sessions – Develop your composition skills through specialized training, feedback, and hands-on experience.
🎻 Collaboration with the Malta Concert Orchestra – Work on an original composition with professional musicians.
🎤 Final Showcase Concert (June 2025) – Present your work in a live performance.
📜 Certificate of Participation – Awarded to participants who attend at least 80% of the sessions.
Who Can Apply?
✅ Applicants must be between 16 and 30 years old and residing in Malta or Gozo.
✅ Must have a minimum of Grade 7 (or equivalent) in music theory, with a good understanding of harmony, counterpoint, and rhythmic notation.
✅ Must submit a PDF score of at least one original composition that best represents their style, along with a biography, recordings, and other supporting materials.

📌 Programme Duration: April – June 2025
📌 Final Concert: 11 June 2025
