What's new in OAR
Open Access fact of the month
DOAJ (the Directory of Open Access Journals) is an excellent tool for discovering Open Access journals and periodicals which is managed by the Infrastructure Services for Open Access C.I.C. (IS4OA). Initially launched in 2003 with mere 300 titles, the directory today contains over 17 thousand high-quality OA journals covering all scientific disciplines, making it the most complete registry of its kind. What’s more, unlike its counterparts that focus on OA repositories (OpenDOAR & ROAR), DOAJ is also a fully searchable database offering article-level search options and easy full text access. On a technical level, the directory boasts a high degree of interoperability - it is indexed both by HyDi and commercial search engines as well as Google Scholar, and serves as a data provider for metadata aggregation services.
