After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Faculty of Engineering is pleased to have opened its doors once again to school students through the Engineering Technology Clubs. During this academic year, the Faculty saw 640 students from various state, church, and independent schools participate in these exciting clubs which provide a unique opportunity for students to dive into the world of engineering through hands-on workshops.
The clubs offered include robotics, electronics, energy generation, mechanics, material science and manufacturing, and are designed to provide students with a fun and interactive way to learn about the many facets of the modern engineering profession. In addition to the workshops, students also gain insight into the engineering profession and the entry requirements for the Faculty of Engineering and University, making these clubs an ideal choice for students who are about to make their option choices. To keep things interesting, a fun "two truths and a lie" game tests the students' attention and understanding of the activities that took place.
None of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the Faculty's members of staff, research support officers, as well as the various school teachers who collaborated to ensure the success of these clubs. So, join us in celebrating the return of the Engineering Technology Clubs and the inspiring work being done to prepare the next generation of innovators!
