Extended Opening Hours
The Library is extending its opening hours from Tuesday 2 May till Friday 30 June 2023.
The Main Library Study Halls on Level II and Level III will open on:
Mondays - Fridays:
2 May to 15 June - 07:00 - 23:00
16 June to 30 June - 08:00 - 20:00
Saturdays: 09:00 - 16:45
Sundays & Public Holidays: 09:00 - 16:45
The Circulation Desk, Melitensia and Reference Departments will open on:
Mondays - Fridays:
2 May to 15 June - 07:00 - 20:00
16 June to 30 June - 08:00 - 16:45
Saturdays: 09:00 - 12:15
Sundays & Public Holidays: Closed
Borrowing and returning books (Circulation Desk and Melitensia) will be carried out during the above mentioned hours.

SHOAH (The Holocaust): Exhibition
"SHOAH - How was it humanly possible?" is an exhibition organised by Tayar Foundation for Jewish Heritage in Malta and it will be on display at the UM Library Foyer till 4 June.
The exhibition deals with major historical aspects of the Holocaust, beginning with Jewish life in pre-Holocaust Europe and ending with the liberation of Nazi concentration and extermination camps across the continent and the remarkable return to life of the survivors.
New subscription: The Financial Times
The UM Library has recently licensed the Financial Times in electronic format.
The Financial Times (FT) is a British daily business newspaper published in both print and electronic format focusing on business and economic current affairs. The FT has an international recognition for its authority, integrity and accuracy.

Europe Day-Quiz Night - The Quiz Night is officially back!! For another year, the office of the European Commission in Malta is sponsoring our Quiz Night. The Quiz Night is open to all University students and Alumni.
Book Launch: The Europeanisation of Party Politics in Malta - This book examines the Europeanisation of party politics in Malta. It evaluates the influence of Europeanisation on the political system, which is based on two party-system, polarisation, and clientelism. Malta is the smallest European Union (EU) member state, which joined the EU in 2004.
Faculty of Laws and Theology Library: Resource of the Month
L-ewwel tliet kotba ta' l-istqarrijiet ta' Santu Wistin ; miġjubin ghall-Malti minn P. Ugolin Gatt u Karmenu Vassallo ; edituri Ivan Said u Jonathan Farrugia.
This newly launched work is a Maltese translation of the first three books of St. Augustine’s Confessions.
Originally translated by Fr. Ugolin Gatt OSA and Karmenu Vassallo, this work was published as a series of articles in the journal Santa Rita, which is a monthly periodical issued by the Augustinian Fathers in Malta, between February 1956 and November 1963.
It has now been re-published in one volume by the editors Fr. Jonathan Farrugia and Mr Ivan Said. Mr Said also translated the last three chapters of the third book, as this had not been completed by the original translators.

This publication represents a pictorial history to celebrate 50 years since the establishment of the Air Wing of the Armed Forces of Malta. This book is suitable for all those who would like to know how men and women have transformed the history of the Armed Forces of Malta.
