Placements Scheme

The Placements Scheme aims at creating spaces for knowledge transfer within the world of work, and outside a curriculum-based setting.

The UM through its DegreePlus programme and the Knowledge Transfer Office operates a placements website for its students.

Placements offered through the scheme are held locally, and are part-time, paid and short-term work opportunities intended for UM registered students.

The Placements Scheme aims at creating spaces for knowledge transfer within the world of work, and outside a curriculum-based setting. It is a platform where industry may offer part-time work experiences for students to apply for. Summer work opportunities may also be offered.

The work opportunities offered through the scheme are not marked or graded, and students may opt to have their placements recorded on their academic transcript as extracurricular units through the DegreePlus programme.

The Scheme presents students with opportunities to enrich their work portfolio, strengthen and/or establish new work-based networks, and enhance or develop new work-skill sets. It is also intended as a platform where students may explore different work sectors before graduating.
