Dear MyWAVE members,
During the first grant period of MyWAVE we were able to fund thirteen STSMs allowing for Early Career Investigators, ITC members and senior researchers to establish collaborations between different institutions within the network. We are now ready to launch the second call for STSMs for the second grant period which has just started.
As you well know, the main aim of this Action is to further advance EM hyperthermic technologies with special focus on Hyperthermia and RF and MW Ablation and therefore any STSM in line with this topic will be considered. However, STSM applications related to the following topics will be given priority:
– Dielectric & thermal measurement techniques: establishing best practices, confounders of dielectric and thermal measurements, methods for quantifying uncertainty in measurements. These are topics related to the main objectives of working group 1.
– Dielectric & thermal measurements of biological tissues as relevant to EM thermal based therapeutic applications: addressing gaps in knowledge in terms of different biological tissues, frequency range, temperature, etc…, related to working group 1.
– Optimising existing thermal-based EM applications, including treatment protocols, related to working group 2.
– Investigating current and innovative clinical needs to be addressed with EM thermal-based therapeutic technologies, highlighting challenges and deficiencies, related to working group 2 & 3.
Applications need to be submitted on the e-COST portal and these will be accepted until Wednesday, 10th July, 2019. Notification of acceptance will be announced by Monday, 29th July, 2019 and thus any planned STSM should be planned for any date after this. STSMs must be completed by mid-April 2020.
We look forward to your submissions.
