Dear MyWAVE members,
We are now ready to launch the third call for STSMs.
As you know, the main aim of this Action is to further advance EM hyperthermic technologies with special focus on Hyperthermia and RF and MW Ablation and therefore any STSM in line with this topic will be considered. However, STSM applications related to the following topics will be given priority:
– Dielectric & thermal measurement techniques: establishing best practices, confounders of dielectric and thermal measurements, methods for quantifying uncertainty in measurements. These are topics related to the main objectives of working group 1.
– Dielectric & thermal measurements of biological tissues as relevant to EM thermal based therapeutic applications: addressing gaps in knowledge in terms of different biological tissues, frequency range, temperature, etc…, related to working group 1.
– Optimising existing thermal-based EM applications, including treatment protocols, related to working group 2.
– Investigating current and innovative clinical needs to be addressed with EM thermal-based therapeutic technologies, highlighting challenges and deficiencies, related to working groups 2 & 3.
Applications need to be submitted on the e-COST portal and these will be accepted until Thursday, 31st October, 2019. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Notification of acceptance will be announced at the end of November, so STSMs should be planned after this time. All STSMs must be completed by mid-April 2020.
