Dear MyWAVE members,
We are now ready to launch the fifth call for STSMs.
As you know, the main aim of this Action is to further advance EM hyperthermic technologies with special focus on Hyperthermia and RF and MW Ablation and therefore any STSM in line with this topic will be considered. However, STSM applications related to the following topics will be given priority:
– Dielectric & thermal measurement techniques: confounders of dielectric and thermal measurements, methods for quantifying uncertainty in measurements. These are topics related to the main objectives of working group 1. (WG1)
– Dielectric & thermal measurements of biological tissues as relevant to EM thermal based therapeutic applications: addressing gaps in knowledge in terms of different biological tissues, frequency range, temperature, ec… (WG1)
– Optimising existing thermal-based EM applications, including Treatment protocols (WG2)
– Investigate the impact of local perfusion on temperature distribution and how this changes as a function of tissue temperature, to support TP protocols (WG2)
– Investigate current and innovative clinical needs to be addressed with EM thermal-based therapeutic technologies, highlighting challenges and deficiencies. (WG2 & 3)
Applications need to be submitted on the e-COST portal and these will be accepted and evaluated as an on-going process. Notification of acceptance will be sent up to two weeks after submission, so STSMs should be planned allowing for this time.
All STSMs must be completed by mid-September 2021.
