Since May 2018 a hybrid hyperthermia system, consisting of the Pyrexar BSD 2000-3D/MR compatible applicator integrated in a Philips Ingenia 1.5T MRI, is in clinical operation at the LMU Klinikum Munich. More than 60 patients with soft tissue sarcoma of the lower extremities or pelvic region have received deep regional hyperthermia treatment in combination with chemotherapy. I will give an overview of the technical and clinical performance of the system, and discuss preliminary results of a study of the reproducibility of MR thermometry during treatment.
