Abstract: The manner in which Picedula and Muscicapa spp. and some Phylloscopus spp. catch their insect prey in the air is well documented in various works. Other species, however, though having a totally different feeding behaviour, are sometimes observed to resort to this 'flycatcher method' when provided with the occasion.
