| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre, in association with the Ministry of Education and Culture, presents the programme for the 3-act comic operetta "Orpheus in the Underworld", translated into English from Jacques Offenbach's "Orphée aux Enfers" by Phil Park and Ronald Hanmer, and performed by students of St. Michael's College and the Mater Admirabilis College. The operetta featured an orchestra conducted by J. Vella, and was produced by Bro. David. The performance was held on the 29th and the 30th of January, 1972, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
| Description: | Two programmes included, one with performers' signatures and one without. Both programmes include note on the original legend of Orpheus, note on the operetta's story, list of cast, synopsis of scenes, list of crew, list of musical numbers, lists of male and female chorus members, and list of forthcoming events at the Manoel theatre.
